'The Crib' Coming to Chunxiulu in August
Those with a keen eye may have noticed that the Feiteng Yuxiang on Chunxiu Lu has been closed, and emptied out. The huge space, half of which is a 1970s factory and half of which consists of extensions built onto this original framework is currently mid-transformation. Following renovations, Feiteng Yuxiang will officially turn into The Crib, an international and non-traditional food court, aiming to open at the end of August.
Certainly no electricity shortage
The Crib is going to be a sort of incubator and food court, with mostly space for food-related stalls, but also a small amount of retail. We spoke to one of the brains behind the idea, Hsu Li, who you may know from The Smokeyard and FatFace Catering.
The downstairs with evidence of original brick walls
We took a tour through the site, and although still mid-construction, the set up is awesome, with nooks and crannies, plenty of space, and brick wall remaining from the original factory layout. There's a total of 1,500 meter squared to work with, Li tells us, and The Crib is aiming for 35 stalls to be dotted throughout the site.
